Flying Rods

Flying Rods, What are they? Are they extra-terrestrial beings crossing through our dimension? Are they secret government projects? That what people thought until recent studies showed that they are just a camera malfunction!

Flying Rods are simply just bugs moving very fast in the view of the camera. So Flying Rods aren't aliens or missiles. But how do you explain old rock carving supposedly showing Flying Rods. Did they have cameras around then or could people see Flying Rods? Could it be that Flying Rods aren't camera malfunctions but the cameras just seem to make things look like Flying Rods?

If so what could these things be? Could strait creatures with curvy wings be real? You decide that for yourself!

Yeren

The Yeren or Chinese wild-man is a reported humanoid living in the Chinese mountains. This creature is said to be about 4-7ft tall and looks a lot like Bigfoot. It is covered by long red or brown hair. Some people have claimed to see white Yeren or some 10ft tall. Cryptozoologists think this might just be an orangutan but they became extinct in that area years ago So what is it?

Some people think it could be a prestoric primate called Gigantopithecus a huge black monkey that was 9.8ft tall. But that creature is extinct.

Lots of plasters have been made from the supposed footprint of the Yeren but how can we be sure? Hair samples have also been found but have been proven to be human hair dyed a red colour. No photos have been taken either. So all we have to believe are eyewitnesses and a few footprints.

Could the Yeren, Yeti, Skunk Ape, and Bigfoot all be the same creature or could Gigantopithecus be still alive and living in the Chinese mountains?

Giant Killer Snakes

Reports of a man-eating giant snake about 45-100 feet long date back to the discovery of South America. Early explorers claimed to have seen a giant snake 59ft long. Natives around that area say to have seen 34 foot giants. Although the largest one caught there was 16ft. A scientist claimed to have shot a huge specimen measuring 34ft long but he doesn't have any proof.

In Florida they used to sell baby snakes as pets. But when they got to big for their cages owners would let them go into the Everglades. That was a huge source for giant anaconda sightings. When Hurricane Andrew struck most of the snakes somehow got back into central Florida. Big and small snakes are found so constantly that they even have their own Anti-Snake company. The company handles snakes that are found on peoples property or that seen harmful. Giant Snakes are reported alot in Florida.

Some big snakes have been cut open and cats, crocodiles, and even people have been found inside. If these are faked how could they get a dead body and stuff them in a big dead snake. This prove there are man-eating snakes.

So are these Giant man-eating killer snakes real or just our own mind playing tricks?

Alien Big Cats

Alien big cats or Phantom cats are large cats said to roam on farms and forests all around the world. Reports of these big cats have come from Britain, Australia, Ireland, Finland, Denmark, United States, Hawaii, and even New Zealand. Hundreds of tracks have been found and a lot of photographs. Some people think that they could just be a cougar, leopard, or black panther. But then what about places like Australia and New Zealand that don't have any big cats? Could they have been mistaken house cats? Or just a whole new species of cat? Scientists say that there is not a high chance that crptids like this do exist because their survival in their reported habitats is extremely unlikely.

Britain

Big cats in Britain are mostly reported around the south west area according to a survey taken in 2003-2004.

Australia

Big cats are sighted all around Australia North, South, East, and West. Sightings began over 100 years ago.

Denmark

In 1995 there was a big cat called the Beast of Funen. It was commonly described as a big lion or a lynx.

New Zealand

Big cats have been sighted in the North and South islands. There has been alot of big cat sightings but their has only been one or two photos and no physical evidence.

United States

Big black cat sightings are mostly in the United States people think it might be a mountain lion but are mountain lions black?

So are Alien big cats real or are they just mistaken identities?

Thunderbird

Millions of giant flying creatures have been reportedly seen over America. They are given the name Thunderbirds. These reports date back to 1890 when two cowboys supposedly killed a giant bird-like creature that with its wings outstretched was the length of a barn.

Later in the 1940's a lot of Thunderbird sightings came up all over the place. Including reports of people in their planes flying next to Thunderbirds.

Thunderbirds are said to be the size of a small plane, it also has box shaped wings. They look alot like very big Turkey Vultures.

In July 1977, a group of boys went to play in their backyard when two Thunderbirds swooped down and chased them one of the Thunderbirds managed to pick up one of the boys with its talons and lift him a few feet off the ground. The young boy wriggled his way out and fell to the ground while the Thunderbirds flew away.

Scientists say that most of the Thunderbird sightings are just normal birds that appear to be bigger. But what about the others...

Kraken

The legend of the Kraken has gone down in history. This creature is even more famous than The Loch Ness Monster. The Kraken is known as a huge squid that drags boats and ships down to the bottom of the sea. Legends tell of a giant squid wrapping its arms around a ship and dragging it into the ocean. The crew would drown or be eaten by the monster.

All of a sudden the descriptions of the creature changed. People reported seeing a Sea monster with six heads, one with big and sharp horns, and even a giant crab-whale. A giant octopus could fit the description, the Kraken seems much more aggressive. The Kraken is so big it supposedly could wrestle a Blue Whale.

I think that sailors could of mistaken the Kraken for a Giant Squid or a whale.

Canvey Island Monster

The Canvey Island Monster is the name given to a very weird creature whose carcass washed up on Canvey Island, England, in November 1953. It was 76cm long with thick reddish-brown skin, big black eyes and gills. It had hind legs, with five toed, horseshoe-shaped feet.

A second carcass was found in August 1954. It was very similar to the first, but much larger. This one was 120cm long and weighed 11.3kg. You could clearly see its eyes, nostrils and teeth. Some people think that they could be some type of Angler fish. Others think it could be a type of Frog fish.

In 1999, A Journalist called Nicholas Warren went searching for the monster. He came to a conclusion, that the monster was a type of unknown creature. Zoologists admitted that they had never seen anything like it.

People still think the Canvey Island Monster is another type of fish, but why did scientists destroy the carcasses after they researched it?

Chacoan Peccary

In the 1970's Ralph Wetzel and some friends from the University of Connecticut went to Patagonia, in South Africa to look for something that had disappeared years ago, The Chacoan Peccary.

Two species of Peccary are known to exist. Natives of Patagonia reported seeing a large peccary with very rough and coarse hair. The Natives call it the Tagua. When Ralph heard these stories he decided to go look for it. And they found it, deep down in the forests of South America, alive and well. Science then proved it to be a third type of Peccary that was very different than the others.

The Chacoan Peccary in now a protected species that is endangered because of its limited population. The length of a Chacoan Peccary is about three feet long. It lives in very small family groups from 2 up to 10. The Chacoan's main threat is humans that are clearing land for cattle, and exploring for oil. These Peccary's mainly eat cacti and fruit. This species of Peccary live in one of the driest and hottest places on earth.

Its amazing how another cryptid has been proven to be real!!!

Skunk Ape

Until the summer of 2004, 32 year old Florida mother, Jennifer Ward, didn't believe in Bigfoot or Skunk Ape the Floridian nickname for the beast. "I didn't really think they existed!" she said in November 2004. Ward saw something that would forever change her mind. Driving down Moore Road in Polk country, Ward saw something that looked like a large animal, nearly 8 feet tall, standing upright in a roadside ditch. "It just stared at me as I drove past." She didn't stop because her two daughters were sleeping in the back seats. She was convinced it was not a bear despite what wildlife experts tried to tell her. She now carries a camera with her wherever she goes in case she sees the strange creature again.

Another Skunk Ape was also sighted trying to take apples from the back of a elderly couples house. But this time it was photo-graphed. For the following years, sightings of the Skunk Ape increased ten-fold. But is there a creature like that in Florida? Below is a video clip about sightings and research of Skunk Ape. I don't really agree with the part about evolution though.

Bunyip

Some say that Australia is a land of weird and unusual creatures. Just look at the kangaroo, bandicoots, and koalas to be convinced. But what about the Bunyip?

In Aboriginal bedtime stories, the Bunyip is described as a water spirit that is likely to gobble up children and livestock if they come to close to the waters edge. The legends tell of a man named Bunyip who broke a great law by eating forbidden animals. Bunyip was banished and became evil. He lured tribesmen and livestock into the water where he would eat them.

The Bunyip has been found in old Aboriginal cave paintings so that means the Aboriginals made up or saw the monster. Bunyip has been described as a feathered serpent, a swimmer with a dogs head and fins like a whale, and even a gopher with claws like a sloth. Descriptions change with every retelling which makes it more likely that the Bunyip is only a fantasy.

The Bunyip has been supposedly sighted near rivers, lakes, and billabongs throughout Australia. Most actual sightings were reported in the 1800's. Some say the Bunyip could be a prehistoric rhino that escaped extinction.

Giant Squid

For decades the Giant squid was considered a legend. But in September 2004, a research team found proof near Japans Bonin Island. Using a remote control camera they captured over 500 images of a twenty-six foot long creature trying to take bait form the end of a pole. In September 2005 the research team made their discovery public.

That's when a national phenomena started. A new creature was found! The Giant Squid looks exactly like a squid but is much bigger. Many other Researches have gone to find the Giant Squid but they have only found specimens that are dead or dying. This creature with a few other cryptids are one of the few which has been found to be real. The biggest size of a Giant squid ever recorded is 13 meters long (That's 43 feet!!!) Well that just goes to show who knows some cryptids are probably real!

Champ

Champ, Champie, or Champy, is the name given to a lake monster living in Lake Champlain. Lake Champlain is a natural freash water lake in North America. While there is no scientific evidence for the cryptids existence, there have been over 300 reported sightings. The legend of the monster is considered a draw for tourism.

Like the Loch Ness Monster, people say ther is a possiblity that a creature does live in the lake, possibly a relative of the plesiosaur.The supposed length of the monster is about 15-30 feet long but others think about 6-8 feet. Its physical characteristics are that it is dark coloured, long necked, round bodied and has a very long tail.

One woman captured a image that rocked the region in July 1977. While swimming with her family Sandra Mansi saw something rise out of the water and make a fast retreat. Saw ran to her car and grabbed her camera. For years she had hid her picture away from fear of being laughed at. Mansi's picture captured a clear life form, or does it? It was the best documented sighting of a sea monster in all of history.

Dover Demon

The Dover Demon is said to be a cryptid only seen in Dover. Its claimed to be a small hairless creature about the size of a small goat. The Dover Demon was first sighted at night by three seventeen-year-old boys that were driving on the road. They suddenly saw a weird creature up ahead on the road. Later the same night Bill Bartlett thought he saw a dog or cat but on closer inspection he saw a un-earthly looking humanoid crawling along a stone wall on Farm street. Bill kept watching the creature and said that it didn't have any ears, nose, or mouth. The creature was sighted again an hour later by John Baxter and Pete Mitchell as they were walking home. They say it ended up running away and staring at them next to a tree. A few days later a man said he caught a picture of the Dover Demon in a picture. Most believe the photo is faked But what do you want to believe? Some people think that it is a Extraterrestrial, but I'm not to sure...

Chupacabra

In Mexican legends the Chupacabra is a ferocious beast that drains every drop of blood from its victims. Chupacabras look similar to a wolf or coyote. The only difference is that Chupacabras have a long pointed snout and its back legs are longer than its front legs. People have found dead Chupacabras and have also seen real ones. This cryptid is real but no-one has caught one.

1995: One of the first bits of evidence with when eight sheep were discovered dead, each with puncture holes in the chest and their blood drained out of them.

2004: In Texas a farmer named Reggie Lagow caught an animal that was eating his chickens. When it was trying to get away he shot it. It was a mix of dog, rat, and kangaroo. That was the first dead Chupacabra found.

2006: In Russia the news reported that 32 turkeys were killed somehow over night. Reports of a dog like creature were being made all the time. The same week 30 sheep were found dead with there blood drained. Experts were determined to hunt this creature down.

2007: Reports were made that over 300 hundred sheep were found killed with their blood also drained.

2008: Deputy Brandon Riedel, filmed a dog like creature with his dashboard camera. The creature looked like a coyote with a long snout, short front legs and long back legs.

2009: Video footage was made of an unidentified dead animal. Locals have been thinking there is possibility that it might be a Chupacabra.

Chupacabras are most probably real, or are they too bad to be true?

Yeti

The Yeti is an ape-like creature found in Nepal, India, and Tibet. The Yeti myth is history to the Himalayan people. The Yeti remains a legend because of the lack of evidence. There is only a few videos or photos supposedly taken of the Yeti.

Pre-19th century: It was told that the Himalayan worshiped the Yeti as the "Glacier Being". They also believed that the blood of a "Wildman" was magical. The Wildman was an apelike creature that carried a large stone as a weapon.

19th century: On a expedition in Nepal B. H. Hodgson's guides spotted a tall, creature covered with long dark hair, which seemed to flee in fear. Hodgson thought it was an orangutan.

20th century: The rate of reports increased during the early 20th century, when people began making deliberate attempts to climb the many mountains in the area and occasionally reported seeing odd creatures or strange tracks. While attempting to scale Mount Everest Eric Shipton took photographs of large footprints in the snow. Sir Edmund Hillary reported seeing large footprints while scaling Mount Everest as well. In March expedition teams obtained hair specimens from what was was said to be a Yeti scalp. There is a Yeti believed to be captured on film it is known as the Snow Walker Film. Does the lack of evidence make the Yeti story untrue? You can decide that for yourself!

Loch Ness Monster

The Loch Ness Monster is another famous Cryptid. The Loch Ness Monster or Nessie is said to live in the Loch Ness. It is supposedly a Plesiosaur ( A long necked dinosaur with fins that lives in the sea ). Nessie has been sighted many times. The most famous is the "Surgeons photograph". It was claimed to be a fake but some experts don't know...

The earliest report of this monster was about 565 A.D when St. Columba was at the Loch shore to board a ferry. A hideous monster appeared up from the depths and swam towards him. St. Columba made a cross with his fingers and ordered the monster to leave. The monster turned and swam away.

1933: George Spicer and his wife saw a extraordinary creature cross the road ahead of their car. They said the creature had a large body and a long narrow neck.

A motorcyclist called Arthur Grant claimed to have nearly hit the creature at about 1am. He said it had a long neck with a small head attached. He said it was a cross between a seal and a Plesiosaur.

1934: The Surgeons photograph was taken by Robert Wilson a London surgeon. But is it real...

1943: C.B Farrel claimed to have been 250 yards away from a large finned creature. It had a neck about 4-5 feet sticking out of the water.

1954: In December a strange sonar contact was made by the fishing boat Rival III. The vessel's crew observed sonar readings of a large object underneath the boat at a depth of 480 feet. It was detected travelling for half a mile before contact was lost.

People keep searching for Nessie but not many have seen her.

Bigfoot

Bigfoot is a famous cryptid. I'm sure you've all heard about him. His sightings report him as a giant manlike ape. He is found mostly in the forest but sometimes other places... He is described huge and very hairy. He is about is 6-10 feet tall. People have found footprints, hair, and claw marks that lead up to be evidence of Bigfoot. There has been evidence or sightings found in 1924, 1941, 1958, 1967, and 2007.

1924: Fred Beck claimed he and his fellow miners were attacked by several "apemen" throwing rock at his cabin. The sight was later called Ape canyon. Beck said him and the miners shot and possibly killed one of the creatures. There are also local rumors that pranksters threw rocks at the men and planted faked footprints.

1941: Jeannie Chapman said she escaped her home just as a 7.5 feet tall Sasquatch approached their property.

1958: Jenny Crew was working at Bluff Creek when she found some unusual footprints.The crew was overseen by Wilbur L. Wallace, brother of Raymond L. Wallace. After Ray Wallace's death, his children came forward with a pair of 16-inch wooden feet, which they said their father had used to fake the Bigfoot tracks.

1967: Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin said that they had captured film of Bigfoot back at Bluff Creek. This is known as the Patterson-Grimlin Film. Many years later, Bob Heironimus, a friend of Patterson's, said that he had worn an ape costume for the making of the film. Scientists have analyzed the film and still say it couldn't be faked.

2007: This is the most recent Bigfoot sighting. Hunter Rick Jacobs captured an image of a supposed Sasquatch by using an automatically triggered camera attached to a tree, Scientists say this could be a picture

of a bear with the mange.
